Our big announcement is going public! We are expecting a baby early January and when I say expecting I mean praying for, loving on and anxiously awaiting. We are proud to show off the little project we have been working on. Mamma would say not so “little” from the way she has been feeling, but since Baby Mailhes is still only the size of peach we’ll go with “little”. That’s right. This little munchkin is 2.9 in. long, weighs approximately .81 oz and has a strong, healthy heartbeat. Officially in our 2nd trimester now, I am waiting for that boost of energy that so many have told me about. I have been feeling MUCH better the past week or so, but just when I think I’m in the clear this little peach reminds me “BABY MAILHES IS STILL HERE AND WANTS YOUR FULL ATTENTION!” Got it.
Oh wait, this surprise isn’t big enough? We have another surprise! We already know that we will be welcoming a precious little…
I Had the Results but had to WAIT!?
We had a test done that from a simple blood test of Mamma’s blood. Doctors are able to look at the baby’s DNA to see if it is a boy or a girl as early as 10-12 weeks. When the doctor had the results she called and left a voicemail on my phone. I was on vacation with my family and Trey was not joining us until later in the week. Anyone who knows me knows I am not a patient person so I hope you can understand the amount of self control as well as the pure torture I endured during the big wait. I got the call on a Wednesday afternoon and Trey was scheduled to arrive Thursday night…late! I left that voicemail just sitting there in my phone and did not listen to it. My parents and I went to a baby boutique and picked out a girl item and a boy item. We had the sales clerk listen to the voicemail and wrap up whichever item was the appropriate one while we left the store. With the help of my parents, I kept my new “gift” wrapped and a secret until Trey arrived. Once he was there and we were ready to open I got stage fright. I got incredibly nervous for such a big piece of information. I was convinced I was having a boy and SURPRISE, its a girl. Which we are so so thrilled about!
Ready for this Adventure
It is a relief to share the news with everyone and stop all the secret keeping. So we are excited to share with you along the way (knowing me maybe more sharing than you really asked for), but that’s the beauty of the blog. Just stop reading if my pregnancy posts, growing belly pictures, baby nursery ideas, and my worries and excitements are too much for you.
Get ready world… Baby Mailhes is on her way!

Howdy! This post couldn’t be written any better! Looking through this post reminds me of my previous roommate!
He always kept preaching about this. I most certainly will forward this information to him.
Fairly certain he’ll have a great read. Thanks for sharing!
